When making a reservation to stay at Cranleigh Bath, either by phone, online via cranleighbath.com or through an external provider (such as Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com) you agree to the following conditions:


To make a reservation at Cranleigh Bath we will require the guest name, contact information (telephone number and email address), and payment information (normally a credit or debit card). Once the booking has been processed you will receive a booking confirmation by email. If you need to amend your cancel your booking this will be confirmed by email. On receiving any confirmation you must check for accuracy, Cranleigh will be happy to correct any genuine mistakes within 24 hours of the confirmation being issued. 


Non-refundable, prepaid and advance rates:

Room rates which are non-refundable, prepaid or advance purchase, payment will be taken at the time of booking. This will normally be processed immediately or within 24 hours of the booking. This payment is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

Flexible Rates

Payment is required 7 days before your expected arrival date. No payment is required at the time of booking. You will be required to provide a payment card at the time of booking to secure the reservation. Payment will be taken from the provided payment card no earlier than 7 days before your expected arrival date. If you wish to make payment earlier or change the supplied payment card this can be done using the ‘manage existing booking’ section of the website.

Cancellations and Modifications

Grace Period

We do offer a grace period of 24 hours after booking, in this period if you need to cancel or modify your reservation this can be done without penalty. Requests to cancel or modify a booking must be received within 24 hours of the booking being made otherwise the cancellation penalty will apply. 

Non-refundable, prepaid and advance rates:

Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. These room rates are non-refundable in the event of cancellation. You may amend your reservation without penalty up to 30 days prior to your arrival with only any difference in the rates being charged. You may transfer your booking to another person, please notify Cranleigh of your intention to do this. We will require the name and contact detail of the person to whom you are transferring the reservation.  Amendment requests made with less than 30 days to the booked arrival date are subject to the discretion of the management.

Flexible Rates

You may cancel or make amendments to your reservation without penalty up to 7 days before your booked arrival. If you amend your reservation you will agree to pay any difference in the rates being charged. If you cancel less than 7 days prior to your booked arrival you agree to pay the total cost of the booking.


We recommend children are aged 5 years or over when staying at Cranleigh. We do not provide facilities such as high chairs or infant cots. 

Children remain the responsibility of the parent, guardian or responsible adult in the travelling party. Children under the age of 12 years must have a responsible adult staying in the same guest room. Children aged 12 – 17 may occupy a guest room without an adult being present but a responsible adult must be in the travelling party. 


With the exception of service and assistance animals (such as a guide or hearing dogs), animals are not permitted to stay at Cranleigh Bath. 

Room disturbance, damage and smoking. 

Damage to Guest Rooms

Generally, Cranleigh Bath will not pass on costs of any accidental damage which occurs in our guest rooms. However if for any reason be suspect that the damage was intentional or where items, fixtures and fitting have been used for purposes other than their original design we will pass on the costs of replacing, repairing or cleaning, to make the room fully serviceable. You will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be offered. 


We ask all of our guests to be considerate when staying at Cranleigh and to avoid disturbing other guests, especially between the night time hours of 10 pm – 8 am.  In extreme cases will reserve the right to ask guests to leave that have continually disturbed others while staying at Cranleigh Bath. No refunds will be offered in these circumstances.  We will also charge any cost of any compensation provided to guests who have been disturbed as a result of your actions. 


Cranleigh operates a strict no smoking policy. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building including all guest rooms. We also ask guests to refrain from smoking in the grounds and gardens. If we find that guests have smoked cigarettes, cigars, tobacco products or electronic e-cigarettes we reserve the right to pass on any cost in regards to cleaning to remove the smell of smoking or vaping. 

Where a guest has intentionally damaged or misused facilities at Cranleigh Bath, including smoking we will also pass on cost if the guest room is not serviceable. These costs include the loss of revenue plus any cost in re-accommodating future guests booked into that room. 

During your stay

Checking in

You may have access to your room from 3 pm on the day of arrival. You may check-in earlier if you wish, subject to availability, for no extra charge.

You will be provided with information after booking how to access the property and self-check-in when our reception is not available.

Check out

You may have access to your room until 11 am on the planned day of departure. Cranleigh reserves the right to charge a fee of £20 for late departures if you have not vacated your room by 11 am. Guest who fails to check out by 12 pm (noon) will be charged the full room rate for the date of departure unless otherwise agreed with a duty manager.

Room Amenities.

Guest Rooms at Cranleigh will be equipped as per the room description on the booking site.

Bed Preferences

In instances where room are described with “King or Twin” beds available, you will need to ensure your choice is requested on booking. We will try to accommodate your request but we are unable to guarantee bed type.

Towels and Linen

Towels and bed linen are provided in your room at the start of your stay. In line with our environmental policy, we encourage our guests to reuse towels during your stay. Bed linen will only be changed on request from guest.

This policy is very popular with our guests and not only helps the environment but also reduces our housekeeping costs. These cost savings are now reflected in our rates and multi-night discounts. As a result of this, a small charge is now added for guest requesting changes of towels or linen during your stay.

  • Hand Towel £1 (each)
  • Large Towel £3 (each)
  • Change of Bed Linen, (duvet, sheets and pillows) £10 per bed.

Please be aware our housekeeping operates between 10 am and 1 pm each day so requests will need to be made in this timeframe.
